How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

Joshua 10:40-42 So Joshua conquered the whole region–the kings and people of the hill country, the Negev, the western foothills, and the mountain slopes. He completely destroyed everyone in the land, leaving no survivors, just as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded. Joshua slaughtered them from Kadesh-barnea to Gaza and from Goshen to Gibeon. In a single campaign Joshua conquered all these kings and their land, for the LORD, the God of Israel, was fighting for his people.

Proverbs 5:21-23 For the LORD sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes. An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him. He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his incredible folly.

NT

1:1-2 This letter is from Paul, appointed by God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our dear brother Timothy. We are writing to God’s church in Corinth and to all the Christians throughout Greece. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you his grace and peace.

Perspective

Judgment starts at “the house of God,” my body
Joy is the result of being right with God
We get there through the pain of God’s judgment
Agony – Gethsemane and the Cross beyond us – our door into life
In light of temptation – the final onslaught
Every man can enter into Life because of what the Son of Man went through
