Our Choice: Blessings or Curses? Well, Duh!
Malachi/Romans 7-9

How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

2:1-2 “Listen, you priests; this command is for you! Listen to me and take it to heart. Honor my name,” says the LORD Almighty, “or I will bring a terrible curse against you. I will curse even the blessings you receive. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you have not taken my warning seriously.”

3:1-2 “Look! I am sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then the Lord you are seeking will suddenly come to his Temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you look for so eagerly, is surely coming,” says the LORD Almighty. “But who will be able to endure it when he comes? Who will be able to stand and face him when he appears? For he will be like a blazing fire that refines metal or like a strong soap that whitens clothes.”

NT

7:8 But sin took advantage of the law and fooled me; it took the good law and used it to make me guilty of death.

:14 The law is good, then. The trouble is not with the law but with me, because I am sold into slavery, with sin as my master.

8:1-2 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death.

:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

:38-39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. the angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the posers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
