How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

10:28-31 Thus, Jehu destroyed every trace of Baal worship from Israel. He did not, however, destroy the gold calves at Bethel and Dan, the great sin that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit. Nonetheless the LORD said to Jehu, “You have done well in following my instructions to destroy the family of Ahab. Because of this I will cause your descendants to be the kings of Israel down to the fourth generation.” But Jehu did not obey the law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He refused to turn from the sins of idolatry that Jeroboam had led Israel to commit.

7:17 You must accept whatever situation the Lord has put you in, and continue on as you were when God first called you. This is my rule for all the churches.

8:9 But you must be careful with this freedom of yours. Do not cause a brother or sister with a weaker conscience to stumble.

9:24-27 Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win. All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who misses his punches. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

Launch all on God. Out past the harbor bar to the deep
Obey what you know – what God has placed before you
Only then will He open new vistas
