How to get the most out of Hungry Bible
OT
39:16-18 Say to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, The LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “I will do to this city everything I have threatened. I will send disaster, not prosperity. You will see its destruction, but I will rescue you from those you fear so much. Because you trusted me, I will preserve your life and keep you safe. I, the LORD, have spoken!”
NT
24:37-45 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the Flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the Flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. So be prepared, because you don’t know what day your Lord is coming. Know this: A homeowner who knew exactly when a burglar was coming would stay alert and not permit the house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time. For the Son of Man will come when least expected. Who is a faithful, sensible servant, to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his household and feeding his family?”
25:29, 40, 45-46 “To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who are unfaithful, even what little they have will be taken away. And the King will tell them, ‘I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ And he will answer, ‘I assure you, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”

NT Flash Points
The end of “the way things are” will always come
Be ready, working, loyal
Perspective
You are not your own
You are a thoroughfare for God & people
Why?
So that He can do things that have nothing to do with you
Your sanctification is not for you
What God has given you is not for you
It is for Him and the people He gives you to
You become the wrapping for the “gift” He gives to those around you
