How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

19:23-25 In that day Egypt and Assyria will be connected by a highway. The Egyptians and Assyrians will move freely between their lands, and they will worship the same God. And Israel will be their ally. The three will be together, and Israel will be a blessing to them. For the LORD Almighty will say, “Blessed be Egypt, my people. Blessed be Assyria, the land I have made. Blessed be Israel, my special possession!”

NT

6:37-38 Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. Stop criticizing others, or it will all come back on you. If you forgive others, you will be forgiven. If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving – large or small – it will be used to measure what is given back to you.

6:41-42 And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying, Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye, when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

OT Flash Points

God is Lord of all nations

NT Flash Points

“Don’t call me Lord without obeying Me”
When a dead person is given life, is it the dead person’s life?
Or is it the life of the One who raised them from the dead?
Jesus’ love/life has hemmed me in and holds me together
But for that love, I would be undone

Perspective

Exaltation is followed by coming down to the common drudgery
where the meaning of the vision is explained
