How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

16:1-3 We can gather our thoughts, but the LORD gives the right answer. People may be pure in their own eyes, but the LORD examines their motives. Commit your work to the LORD, and then your plans will succeed.

:7 When the ways of people please the LORD, he makes even their enemies live at peace with them.

:9 We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.

NT

10:18-19 And you must stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. This will be your opportunity to tell them about me–yes, to witness to the world. When you are arrested, don’t worry about what to say in your defense, because you will be given the right words at the right time.

:26 But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything will be revealed; all that is secret will be made public.

Perspective

Don’t let crafty competitive thoughts take root
Denounce them as quickly as possible
Don’t resort to devices, subtle or otherwise, to secure your supremacy
And only apply this to yourself
What others do may appear crafty to you but may not be for them
Don’t let what others do tempt you to disobey Jesus’ nature in you
