What are you stingy with?
Ecclesiastes 1-3/Matthew 21-22
How to get the most out of Hungry Bible
OT
1:18 For the greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow.
3:11-15 God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to enjoy themselves as long as they can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God. And I know that whatever God does is final. Nothing can be added to it or taken from it. God’s purpose in this is that people should fear him. Whatever exists today and whatever will exist in the future has already existed in the past. For God calls each event back in its turn.
NT
21:6 The two disciples did as Jesus said.
:21-22 Then Jesus told them, “I assure you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, May God lift you up and throw you into the sea, and it will happen. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
22:22 His reply amazed them, and they went away.
OT Flash Points
There’s a time for … And a time for …
Everything, including that you believe
As a religious person, your belief makes no difference
It is meaningless unless you are enjoying, as His child, the life God has given
NT Flash Points
Jesus lays down a hard line
“Those who don’t just believe in dogma but believe in God will enter the Kingdom before you who arrogantly place your dogma above reality & simple faith.”
