PROJECT TO REDEEM AND RECOMMISSION GOD’S TRUTH-BEARING WORDS

“LOVE”
Understanding and practicing a command from God like “love one another,” requires knowing His definition of the word. According to His own Book, He IS love. He goes into quite a bit of detail describing what love is. Let’s explore those details. Even if we’ve heard them many times, there’s something new He’ll reveal every time we revisit them.
Probably the earliest look that I’ve found into the origin of love – God’s love, which would, of course be eternal – was in the book MINISTRY IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. In that book Seamands discloses that the ancients (up to the 15th Century) who studied, wrote about, and interacted with the Trinity, called the open love relationship between the Three Persons, The Divine Dance. That caused an explosion of revelation in my own mind and heart that opened to my mind’s eye the decisive action that the Trinity took to wield the almighty sword of “God so loved that…” as They set forth to add us to Their Divine Dance Floor. It still and always will, infuse my soul with deep joy to ponder that beautiful scene. That packed Dance Floor scene would surely be part of the picture Jesus may have seen when He said, “I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.” John 15:11
To the Christians living in Corinth, the Apostle Paul says, “Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening]. Love never fails [it never fades nor ends].”
“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God]. And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.” [1Cor 13:7-8a, 11-13 AMP]
