Exodus 22-24/1Corinthians 4-6

Want to be a leader?

OT – 24:9-11 Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the leaders of Israel went up the mountain. There they saw the God of Israel. Under his feet there seemed to be a pavement of brilliant sapphire, as clear as the heavens. And though Israel’s leaders saw God, he did not destroy them. In fact, they shared a meal together in God’s presence!

OT Commentary:

Applying The Law in the working, walking world

The world is to be overcome with love and purity, devotion and righteousness.

NT – 6:15 Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which belongs to Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never!

18-20 Run away from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Or don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

NT Commentary:
So Paul understood what “ministry” really is – “imitate me”
Follow Jesus as you see Him working His way in me.

Perspective:
Leadership is not an office with manufactured authority as in the world
You ARE a leader, no matter your station, if your eyes are fixed on OUR Leader
