Self-conscious? Or Jesus-conscious?
Psalm 58-61 / 1Timothy 1-3

[About Hungry Bible Reading ]

OT

61:1-8 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah For you have heard my vows, O God; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. Increase the days of the king’s life, his years for many generations. May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him. Then will I ever sing praise to your name and fulfill my vows day after day.

NT

3:16 Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

OT Flash Points

NT Flash Points

Perspective

Self-consciousness produces wrestling, it is not sin
Jesus’ answer to the wrestling is, “Come to Me”
Ask Him to produce Christ-consciousness
Beware of anything that will split your focus on Him
Don’t dispute
Just come
