Enlist in the struggle, join Jesus’ intercession for others
Job 31-33 / Romans 13-16

How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

31:33 Have I tried to hide my sins as people normally do, hiding my guilt in a closet?

NT

13:12-14 The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So don’t live in darkness. Get rid of your evil deeds. Shed them like dirty clothes. Clothe yourselves with the armor of right living, as those who live in the light. We should be decent and true in everything we do, so that everyone can approve of our behavior. Don’t participate in wild parties and getting drunk, or in adultery and immoral living, or in fighting and jealousy. But let the Lord Jesus Christ take control of you, and don’t think of ways to indulge your evil desires.

15:30 Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit.

OT Flash Points

Youth speaks with the illusion of power or authority
Silly boy, silence best becomes you

NT Flash Points

Enlist in the struggle of your Brothers and Sisters by praying for them
Let God give you a glimpse of His love for them and the battle that is being waged in their behalf
That is not possible if you are entangled with the dark life of the world

Perspective

As you read the Word over and over, you will come to a discovery
That you have been focusing on things you considered to be the point of Scripture
Things which actually are not the point at all
At that place, many “bore” of Scripture and slack off reading
Rather than take the challenge to discover the new view that God wants to show them
