Is your name worth preserving?
Genesis 48-50/Acts 19-21

How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

49:3-4 “Reuben, you are my oldest son, the child of my vigorous youth. You are first on the list in rank and honor. But you are as unruly as the waves of the sea, and you will be first no longer. For you slept with one of my wives; you dishonored me in my own bed.”

50:20 As far as I am concerned, God turned into good what you meant for evil. He brought me to the high position I have today so I could save the lives of many people.

NT

19:8-10 Then Paul went to the synagogue and preached boldly for the next three months, arguing persuasively about the Kingdom of God. But some rejected his message and publicly spoke against the Way, so Paul left the synagogue and took the believers with him. Then he began preaching daily at the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This went on for the next two years, so that people throughout the province of Asia–both Jews and Greeks–heard the Lord’s message.

NT Flash Points

Acts exposes, as does the OT, the odious ignorance, arrogance, and impertinence of people who think themselves righteous and contrasts that with the sublime life surrendered to God and led by His Spirit
