Rejoice when things don’t go as you expect? [not a joke] Job 22-24 / Romans 4-6
How to get the most out of Hungry Bible
OT
23:8-10 God has blocked my way and plunged my path into darkness. He has stripped me of my honor and removed the crown from my head. He has demolished me on every side, and I am finished. He has destroyed my hope.
NT
5:1-5 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us–they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
6:12 Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to its lustful desires.
:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Perspective
It is not exactly true to say that God wants us to learn something in our trials
Through every cloud, He wants us to unlearn something
To simplify our relationship to Him until it is exactly that of a child
The clouds are always a sign that He is there
