How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

16:1-6 So they brought the Ark of God into the special tent David had prepared for it, and they sacrificed burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. When he had finished, David blessed the people in the name of the LORD. Then he gave a gift of food to every man and woman in Israel: a loaf of bread, a cake of dates, and a cake of raisins. David appointed the following Levites to lead the people in worship before the Ark of the LORD by asking for his blessings and giving thanks and praise to the LORD, the God of Israel. Asaph, the leader of this group, sounded the cymbals. His assistants were Zechariah (the second), then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel. They played the harps and lyres. The priests, Benaiah and Jahaziel, played the trumpets regularly before the Ark of God’s covenant.

NT

5:12-13 Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and warn you against all that is wrong. Think highly of them and give them your wholehearted love because of their work. And remember to live peaceably with each other.

OT Flash Points

Bread and raisins for everyone
God chooses those He will use while they are unseen, faithful, just doing what is in their hands to do – trusting in God for provision, protection, strength to overcome

NT Flash Points

Hold in high regard those who do the work of leading and teaching

Perspective

People tend these days to reject God or those who teach His Word because some teachings, revelations just don’t make sense to them
Ponder: If God’s view of reality agreed with yours, would He be God?
If you are at odds with His design today, I’m certain you haven’t stepped into Reality and seen it through His eyes
