Live out what Jesus has shown you
1Chronicles 27-29 / 2 Timothy

How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

28:9-10 “And Solomon, my son, get to know the God of your ancestors. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and with a willing mind. For the LORD sees every heart and understands and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. So take this seriously. The LORD has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work.”

:20 Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged by the size of the task, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the LORD is finished correctly.”

NT

1:6-7 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

:12-14 And that is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the one in whom I trust, and I am sure that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until the day of his return. Hold on to the pattern of right teaching you learned from me. And remember to live in the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus. With the help of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard what has been entrusted to you.

Perspective

Don’t forget – Jesus was born a man, died and rose again
Remind everyone of that
No matter what others do, you must remain faithful, keep your head [aquire your soul] That simply stated: Soul = a spirit occupying and expressed in a human body
So the spirit – the intent, and the truth – the bodily actions are ruled by the Holy Spirit
Whatever “spirit” we express with our body, is the spirit we worship
“Worship in spirit and in truth,” means:
Don’t just intend to or sing about or preach about worshiping God but also – DO IT!
