The benchmarks of redemption
Exodus 28/1Corinthians 14-16
How to get the most out of Hungry Bible
OT
28:36-38 Next make a medallion of pure gold. Using the techniques of an engraver, inscribe it with these words: SET APART AS HOLY TO THE LORD. This medallion will be attached to the front of Aaron’s turban by means of a blue cord. Aaron will wear it on his forehead, thus bearing the guilt connected with any errors regarding the sacred offerings of the people of Israel. He must always wear it so the LORD will accept the people.
NT
14:10-12 There are so many different languages in the world, and all are excellent for those who understand them, but to me they mean nothing. I will not understand people who speak those languages, and they will not understand me. Since you are so eager to have spiritual gifts, ask God for those that will be of real help to the whole church.
15:51-53 But let me tell you a wonderful secret God has revealed to us. Not all of us will die, but we will all be transformed. It will happen in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, the Christians who have died will be raised with transformed bodies. And then we who are living will be transformed so that we will never die. For our perishable earthly bodies must be transformed into heavenly bodies that will never die.

Clothes – for glory and beauty
Garments for priestly service in the Presence
Specific garments for interaction with God?
NT Flash Points
Let love be your primary goal and basis for desiring spiritual gifts
Above all desire the gift of prophecy – telling what is God’s mind – for knowing Him is eternal life
Perspective
The Gospel is redemption
About God, not me
The Gospel is not that I can be saved, made new, set free
The Gospel is that God has redeemed all mankind
Those who receive that redemption are commissioned to lift up Jesus Christ, not just what He can do for me
