Redeemed – for what?
Leviticus 26-27 /Hebrews 4-6

How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

26:1-2 Do not make idols or set up carved images, sacred pillars, or shaped stones to be worshiped in your land. I, the LORD, am your God. You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.

NT

4:6-7 So God’s rest is there for people to enter. But those who formerly heard the Good News failed to enter because they disobeyed God. So God set another time for entering his place of rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David a long time later in the words already quoted: “Today you must listen to his voice. Don’t harden your hearts against him.”

:12 For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are.

5:12-14 You have been Christians a long time now, and you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things a beginner must learn about the Scriptures. You are like babies who drink only milk and cannot eat solid food. And a person who is living on milk isn’t very far along in the Christian life and doesn’t know much about doing what is right. Solid food is for those who are mature, who have trained themselves to recognize the difference between right and wrong and then do what is right.

6:1 So let us stop going over the basics of Christianity again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start all over again with the importance of turning away from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.

OT Flash Points

Dedication – Redemption
What are you dedicated to?
The only thing outside ourselves which is worth dedication to is Redemption
Study Redemption – it is also the only thing that makes dedication possible

NT Flash Points

Enter into God’s rest or not
It’s up to you
Let’s move into further understanding, having laid the basic foundations of baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection, eternal judgment

Perspective

Keep moving, growing, building on your faith in Jesus
You don’t forget the Cornerstone and the foundations when building a house but the building must progress so it can become the full structure and function it is intended to be
In other words, go on applying what you see in Jesus and hear Him say regarding the area of construction in you that He wants to work on today
Don’t stop!
Don’t worry or get weary, you won’t get done before He does
Let that work become your joy!
