Who do you say Jesus is?
1Samuel 26-28 / Luke 8-9
26:9-11 “No!” David said. “Don’t kill him. For who can remain innocent after attacking the LORD’s anointed one? Surely the LORD will strike Saul down someday, or he will die in battle or of old age. But the LORD forbid that I should kill the one he has anointed! But I’ll tell you what–we’ll take his spear and his jug of water and then get out of here!”
22-24 “Here is your spear, O king,” David replied. “Let one of your young men come over and get it. The LORD gives his own reward for doing good and for being loyal, and I refused to kill you even when the LORD placed you in my power, for you are the LORD’s anointed one. Now may the LORD value my life, even as I have valued yours today. May he rescue me from all my troubles.”
8:39 “No, go back to your family and tell them all the wonderful things God has done for you.” So he went all through the city telling about the great thing Jesus had done for him.
:50 But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just trust me, and she will be all right.“
9:12-13 Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this deserted place.” But Jesus said, “You feed them.“
:20 Then he asked them, “Who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah sent from God!”
:35 Then a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.”
:49-50 John said to Jesus, “Master, we saw someone using your name to cast out demons. We tried to stop him because he isn’t in our group.” But Jesus said, “Don’t stop him! Anyone who is not against you is for you.“
