A very strange and wonderful world is coming!
Zechariah 13-14/Romans 4-6

How to get the most out of Hungry Bible

OT

13:7-9 “Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, the man who is my partner,” says the LORD Almighty. “Strike down the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs. Two-thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die,” says the LORD. “But a third will be left in the land. I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure, just as gold and silver are refined and purified by fire. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’”

14:6-9 On that day the sources of light will no longer shine, yet there will be continuous day! Only the LORD knows how this could happen! There will be no normal day and night, for at evening time it will still be light. On that day life-giving waters will flow out from Jerusalem, half toward the Dead Sea and half toward the Mediterranean, flowing continuously both in summer and in winter. And the LORD will be king over all the earth.

NT

4:4-5 When people work, their wages are not a gift. Workers earn what they receive. But people are declared righteous because of their faith, not because of their work.

:24-25 It was for us, too, assuring us that God will also declare us to be righteous if we believe in God, who brought Jesus our Lord back from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised from the dead to make us right with God.

OT Flash Points

Coming stricken King
Coming Kingdom
All is light
All is holy

NT Flash Points

The promise comes by faith
Just as sin and death ruled people,
Now God’s wonderful kindness rules instead
So offer your body, to God, all its parts, to be ruled by Him and slaves to righteousness

Perspective

Though trusting faithfulness generates the highest order of experience,
Yet, our faith must be in God alone, not in the experiences
